Dr. Peter Newton is an
orthopedic surgeon in Los Angeles. He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and
treating injuries of the shoulder, elbow, knee, ankle, and foot. He is fellowship trained
in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and joint replacement surgery. He is one of five
orthopedic specialists in California Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, a group with offices
in Beverly Hills and Culver City, California.Dr. Newton
began his orthopedic training in New York City with an orthopedic research fellowship at
Columbia University. He then did his general surgery internship at St.
Lukes/Roosevelt Hospital followed by his orthopedic residency at the New York
Orthopedic Hospital, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Newton
then spent a year in San Diego to obtain additional fellowship training in sports
medicine, arthroscopy, and knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Newton has spoken at several national meetings, has published
many articles in trade specific publications and has contributed to a recently published
textbook on knee surgery. In 1996 he was awarded the Cabaud Memorial Award, presented by
the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. This national award is presented once
a year to the most outstanding research done in the field of Sports Medicine and
Orthopedics. |
